Healing is a huge undertaking.  You not only have to take care of physical disease, have determination that you will not let anything stop your healing, have a positive attitude, deal with emotional and relationship issues, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and follow your goals and life path.  Here are 10 powerful tips about things you can do that underly everything you do and will positively complement all other healing.

1.  Live in the Now

Be present in the now. The past is gone. You can never go back and make it right. You can never re-live a life that was yesterday. Whatever happened, good or bad, it is now no more than a memory.  It cannot hurt you any longer unless you allow it.  Live positively in the present moment, no matter what is occurring. It is All right and perfect. Do not look ahead and dread what may come. Our mind creates a lot of chatter and makes us afraid in order to keep us safe. Tell your mind “Thanks for sharing” and affirm “I am here, I am present”.   It is your choice whether you want to live in the past, present or future but only you know how to make this day beautiful for yourself.

2.  Enjoy Nature

Sit on the lawn or next to a tree. Take a walk in a park or hike on a trail.  Follow a stream.  Paddle along the beach.  Feel the pulse of the earth, the grandeur of the sky, the coolness of the breeze on your face, or the warmth of the sun on your face. Smile at nature, say hello to all the insects, birds and animals you meet.

3. Exercise Daily

Exercise each day with fun activites.  Mix them up to bring variety and freshness to your excise regime as well as challenging your mind and body muscles.  Walk one day, yoga another, take tai chi or dance classes and meet new people.  The possibilites are endless.  It will give you relief from your mind chatter, lift your spirits, help pump your heart, improve blood circulation, clears toxin from your body, charge you with energy and has many other benefits.

4. Accept Your Spirituality

There are billions of people in this world but there is no other person like you.  Your are unique and a valued member of humankind.  Accept it.  Know it.  Live it.  Meditate, or sit quietly, and be in the moment. Read books that are uplifting and have positive messages. Dwell on the positive aspects of your life.  Give thanks for your health, your home, your friends, all the joy and happiness in your life and all the good that surrounds you.

5. Forgiveness

It is time to let it go. As in tip no 1.  The past is in the past.  Forgive all parts of yourself to be whole and perfect. Forgive yourself for any past mistakes or shortcomings; forgive the child within for being afraid; forgive the teenager that spoke words of anger; forgive the young adult for not being a risk taker. Forgive others in the past. Forgive your parents, your siblings and relatives. Let go of all grudges. Forgiveness is about coming to peace within yourself.  Everything you do or happens is only a lesson of life from which you grow.  Take out the positive aspects.  Learn your lessons and let go of all negativity wherever and whenever it occurs in your life.  On Chinese New Year’s Day it is traditional to forgive and repair quarrels, resolve long standing conflicts and feuds, repay any kind of debts you have so that you can have a fresh positive start to the year.  Don’t wait for any particular day.  Forgive and repair bad feelings as soon as they occur so they do not have the opportunity to eat away at you and damage your life.

6. Do something for yourself

Give yourself permission to relax and savor quiet times. Read a book for fun. Spend that extra money and get a massage or a facial. Do something selfish to pamper yourself.

7. Nutrition

Listen to your body. Feed your body and mind with good nutritious food. Have all food and drink nourish, build and support your lifestyle.  Dump empty calories.  Dump food, drink and other substances that lower your health.  Take a high quality multi-vitamin or liquid supplement. Most health challenges can be reduced or eliminated with a dietary changes and supplements.

8. Let Go of Judgment

Don’t judge or blame. Never speak critically of others or yourself. Speak words of encouragement to yourself and everyone you meet. Accept everyone for who they are and embrace their differences.  Different is interesting.

9. Help Others

Reach out and lend a hand to a friend in need. Offer unconditional service to others. Be a great listener and really hear what people say when they speak. Find ways to help others to lift their spirits and help lessen their burdens.  Have and show a positive attitude toward others.

10. Love and Respect

Love yourself and use positive words of encouragement. Compliment strangers and make others smile. Speak from a loving heart and shine with joy.  Demonstrate unconditional love and respect toward yourself, humanity, flora and fauna, environment and the planet and you will receive it back many times over in many ways.

In the beginning of making changes to you life, you will have days when you are strong and follow the above and others when you do not not.  Don’t give up. Don’t fall back into your old ways. Don’t chastise yourself or make excuses.  Pick yourself up and get back on building your changed life.
